You can take OTC pain medication to reduce swelling and pain. Placing ice packs on your cheek can also help. Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water can help prevent infection. A blood clot will form at the extraction site, which should be left alone as it helps with your healing. Rest, eat a soft food diet, and do not smoke or drink alcohol during your recovery. You can brush your teeth gently but avoid the extraction site. You should be back to normal within a week.
